The Ed Hardy label has been sported by just about every big name celebrity you can name from Madonna and Janet Jackson to Penelope Cruz and Brooke Shields. Natalie Bassingthwaighte and Deni Hines were among the first of a stream of fashionable people to get their T-shirts customised by celebrity “cutter” Adam Saaks. Flown in directly from L.A for the party, Saaks snips, slashes and weaves each piece into new shapes - while still on the wearer’s body. Also among the crowd were socialite Lillian Frank, Nick Giannopoulos, Russell Gilbert, Dermot Brereton and a handful of former Big Brother and Australian Idol contestants.
ARIA award-winners TV Rock (Grant Smilie and Ivan Gough) performed an extended set including their single Bimbo Nation with intriguing singer, Nancy Vice. Later on, the current incarnation of the band Taxiride took the stage to entertain the crowd with new songs and some old hits.
The Ed Hardy store itself had to be opened early due to high demand for some night time VIP shopping. With a wall dedicated entirely to showcasing customised caps and a section of stiletto heels to drool over the store is bright and bold – a lively new addition to the Chapel Street facade.source(mediasearch)
